Four friends from Colorado found the Willamette Valley, fell in love with the land and the community, and began a journey to fulfill a dream.
The idea for establishing Quandary Vineyards came as we married our love of the area with our love of great wines. And our appreciation for Oregon’s beauty inspired us to create a new destination where friends and family can find what we’ve found in the Willamette Valley.
Welcome to Quandary Vineyards.
We started preparing the land for planting the first vineyard. And we began planning a new house and a renovation of the existing house.
As with any big project, first steps are critical. We are grateful to have found an amazing vineyard management partner, Results Partners. This transformation was only possible with their guidance and skills. They made the journey both smooth and fun.
It’s been quite an adventure, from planting our first vines to multiple harvests, a recent vineyard expansion, and two newly built homes.
The land had great bones and great views. That’s what we fell in love with.
From the first time we saw the property, we imagined creating a destination where whole families could come, relax, and find the peace and quiet we had discovered.
Quandary Vineyards is a special place, where you can be renewed by the views, the silence, and some amazing rest. And it’s a special place, where conversations can run wide and deep; where food and drink can be simple, yet superb, and where mornings can be glorious in both rain and shine.
Renovating the house and building a new one became the next mission, as we considered what it would mean to stay on Quandary.
The original family home, with 360-degree breathtaking views, provided the inspiration for design of The Gables and also led us to fashion The Farmhouse in the same manner.
The concept of expansive high-peaked decks came from our love of the view and a desire to share it with every guest. We’re blessed to connect with an amazing construction partner, MD Haney & Co. Their vision and love of architecture helped create a masterpiece of a house. Together, we kept the legacy of the building while modernizing it for today’s lifestyles.
Because we want to preserve nature’s resources, we teamed with Green Ridge Solar to add a ground-mounted solar array, enabling Quandary Vineyards to become electrically net zero. And emergency generators carry operations through any power disruptions due to weather, ensuring our guest home visitors have a relaxing stay.
Today, you can sit on the deck of either house at dusk and dawn and look out over the valley, enjoying the breeze and the sun.
